Point System
Our new point system is designed to track SIFE member involvement and participation. The purpose of the point system is two-fold: to encourage an increase in current member involvement, developing a more committed, core-group of SIFE students, and to recruit new members by offering incentives for involvement. Through this system, SIFE members are given the opportunity to earn points of two types: general points and project points. After accumulating two general points, members can “cash in” these points for opportunities to win prizes, gift cards, assorted baskets, and so forth, to be drawn periodically. After accumulating 8 project points, members are eligible for travel and participation at competition. SIFE members, in conjunction with SIFE project leaders, will be responsible for keeping track of and submitting their points to an appointed member of the recruitment committee. SIFE members are responsible for tracking their own general points on log sheets made available for pick up in the folder outside of the SIFE office, or available in PDF format upon clicking this link. Log sheets can then be placed for submission outside of the SIFE office, where the recruitment contact will collect them bi-weekly.
SIFE Project Coordinators are responsible for tracking project points for themselves and SIFE members involved in the project. These log sheets can also be found outside of the SIFE office, or by clicking this link.
The following activities will earn general or project points:
General Points (for the purpose of recruiting/buying tickets to win drawings only)
-General meetings: 1 pt
-Attending SIFE socials: 1 pt
-Bringing a friend: 1 pt
-Having a friend join: 2 pts
Project Points (for the purpose of gaining eligibility to compete at regional and national levels and tracking active involvement)
-Participating in a project for one hour: 1 pt
-Project management/leadership for one hour: 2 pts
-Committee meetings (officer meetings, project development work group meetings, etc.): 1 pt
Not only will this point system be instrumental in achieving our team’s objectives for the year, but it will also be useful in determining end-of-year numbers for our annual report.
