MACHS (Mid  American  Collegiate  Horticultural  Society) spring 2005 was in Fort Collins, Colorado.

Colorado State University did a wonderful job hosting 84 students from 13 schools from the mid-west.

We had tours of the CSU campus along with many other exciting places such as the Denver Botanical Gardens and the Denver Zoo.

The 23 acre Denver Botanic Garden was filled with wonderful specimens from around the world.  The tropical conservatory left us overwhelmed with amazement.

The Denver Zoo gave us yet another chance to view many types of horticulture practices.  Tours were available to suit different interests or we were free to look at our own pace.  Most of us from Missouri State got a behind-the-scenes tour of the tropical discovery building.  The amount of work and effort that goes in to keeping up this part of the Zoo is quite unimaginable.

Kara Hawkins, Sonja Lallemand, and Mitch Easter all placed in the herbaceous plant identification competition.  Congratulations!!

Tyler Kuske was elected Sergeant-at-Arms for MACHS 2005-2006.  Congratulations!!
