The national governing body of the Gamma Iota Sigma collegiate risk management and actuarial insurance professional fraternity is called the Grand Chapter.  Established for the purpose of providing direction and to facilitate a national perspective, the Grand Chapter consists of a Board of Trustees and Executive Committee.

The Board of Trustees consists of academic advisors of the collegiate chapters; and representatives of t he corporate, governmental, insurance, and financial communities.

The Executive Committee is responsible for formulating broad policy guidelines for the operation of the Grand Chapter and the network of collegiate and alumni chapters.  Executive committee members, who are also trustees of the fraternity, volunteer their own time for this endeavor.

A few examples of the activities which the Grand Chapter sponsors and coordinates include the Annual Management Conference, National Awards Banquet, and the Warren L. Weeks, Sr. and Gamma Iota Sigma scholarship funds.  The primary policy objectives of the Grand Chapter is "to serve as a resource group" for the national collegiate risk management and actuarial insurance professional fraternity.
