Libbi Crawford, a Spring 2001 graduate from the Insurance and Risk Management program, is currently in the underwriting trainee program at Trident Insurance Services, LLC in San Antonio, Texas. Trident is a member of Argoonaut Group and primarily insures small to medium sized public entities. She recently passed Texas' P&C Insurance Agent's course and can now sell property and casualty products throughout the state of Texas.
Chris Knapp, a December 1999 graduate, is currently employed with the Lockton Companies, a commercial insurance brokerage located in Kansas City. Lockton is the largest independently owned commercial brokerage in the nation. Chris works as a technical assistant for national accounts, processing daily activities such as invoicing, insurance binders etc. The accounts he services are national and enormous in size. Lockton is currently in the process of moving into a new building, which Chris is greatly anticipating. Chris encourages the members of Gamma Iota Sigma to participate in the internship opportunities available through Missouri State, as his participation led directly to his current job.
Melissa Quinn, a Spring 1999 Missouri State Math/Insurance and Risk Management graduate, was selected as the Ozarks Chapter of CPCU Outstanding Graduating Senior in Property/Liability Insurance. Melissa is currently working in the Actuary Department of American National Property and Casualty Companies (ANPAC) in Springfield, Missouri.
Blaine Gronvold, a Spring 1999 Missouri State Risk and Insurance Management graduate, was awarded the Greater Ozarks Chapter of the Society of Financial Service Professionals Outstanding Graduating Senior in Life Insurance. Blaine is currently working for Investors Fiduciary Trust Company (IFTC), a subsidiary of State Street Boston, in Kansas City, Missouri.
Chris Steines graduated in May of 1997. He is currently a Senior Implementation Consultatnt with The Exchanging Group (formerly RebusIS) in Chicago, IL. Chris first worked with 21st Century; he was there for 3 years. Before that Chris was with Computer Sciences Corporation as a Business Analyst supporting insurance software implementations.
Dan Copeland, a Spring 1995 Missouri State Insurance and Risk Management graduate and former member of Gamma Iota Sigma, is currently working in the St. James, Missouri area as an agent for American National Property and Casualty Companies (ANPAC).
Scott M. Sanderson, ARM, was featured in the Fall 1999 issue of THE SEXTANT. Scott is a December 1994 Insurance and Risk Management grad, and was the charter vice president and past president of the Alpha Lambda chapter. Scott currently is Manager of Risk Consulting for Koch Industries, Inc. (KII), the second largest privately held company in the US, which is based in Wichita, Kansas. Scott joined KII in 1997 and is currently responsible for a number of Risk Management functions including management of KII's excess liability program, environmental insurance programs, customer insurance programs, and Year 2000 insurance issues. In addition, Scott is responsible for managing the standards and technical development of Risk Management's due diligence capability and all Risk Management efforts for KII's Energy and Chemicals business. Scott is currently pursuing his CPCU designation.
Claire Fenner, a December 1994 Missouri State Insurance and Risk Management graduate, has been working at American National Property and Casualty Companies (ANPAC) in Springfield, Missouri since April of 1993. She is currently an underwriter in the Special Assistance Unit. Claire has also served as Secretary, President-elect, and President of the Insurance Association of the Ozarks. She has the AIS, CPIW designations and received her CPCU designation in 1999 - Congratulations, Claire! She also teaches an insurance block course at Missouri State each fall - RIL 397, Introduction to Underwriting. This will be her third year of teaching that course.
