Dear Lambda Rho Brothers, Family and Friends:
How can Alpha Kappa Psi honor a fallen brother?
We, in the Lambda Rho Chapter of Alpha Kappa Psi, have recently created a new fraternal scholarship in memory of our fallen brother, Steve Bengfort, who drowned in a tragic boating accident on Table Rock Lake in February 2001. This scholarship, however, cannot be awarded until it is fully endowed with an account balance of $5,000 or more. The current balance of the scholarship is only $2,500.
A scholarship in Steve’s name is our way of forever honoring his memory. He was a Senior in the College of Business Administration and due to graduate in May. He had been a model Alpha Kappa Psi brother since his initiation in the fall of 1999, always willing to do anything for his fellow brothers. Steve led a respectful and happy life that touched the hearts of everyone who came in contact with him. We will forever remember his smile.
For these reasons, we wanted a scholarship in his name so that he could continue to touch the lives of our future brothers. This scholarship will be available only to active members of Lambda Rho Chapter and will be a reminder to all just how deeply our brotherhood runs.
