Are the Meetings Free?

All STC meetings and presentations are free and open to everyone. We have sponsored conferences in the past that do incur registration fees. SOFAC (Student Organization Funding Allocation Council) funding has helped us keep our presentations free.

How Can I Join?

Visit the national STC Web site to print a membership form. Again, you don't need to be a member to attend meetings or presentations -- we welcome everyone. But there are distinct advantages to joining our organization.

Published monthly, "the magazine of STC" contains interesting, timely, and practical articles about our field. Articles include software technologies, writing and editing ideas, upcoming changes to our fields, job search advice, and resume and portfolio questions and answers. This is free with your membership.

The journal of STC has articles about the practical application of technical communication theory and serves as a common arena for discussion by practitioners. Among its most popular features are the helpful book reviews. It is published quarterly and is free with membership.
